Be it a misdemeanor, or a serious, violent crime, our team has the knowledge and experience to help you to evaluate the case objectively, and help you to navigate the criminal court process. We have helped many clients in the exact position you or your loved one find themselves in, and can help you too.
There is nothing that can be as scary as Federal Agents taking you into custody, and charging you with a crime. Often the first time you know that the government is investigating you is when Federal Agents arrive to arrest you.
Our staff started in the Federal Defender's Office, and we know first-hand with our clients just how uncertain and terrifying a time it is. We are dedicated to helping you navigate the Federal Court process, and helping you to defend yourself from the charges leveled against you by the US Attorneys.
Be it an appeal from a guilty verdict at a federal trial, or an appeal to the District Court following a negative outcome from the South Carolina Supreme Court, our staff have the knowledge and experience to represent you and your case before the Circuit Court of Appeals to ensure that every protection and right afforded to you by the Constitution is safeguarded and guaranteed.
If you receive a negative outcome at trial, you have a constitutional right to appeal the verdict of the jury and the sentence imposed upon you by the court.
Our staff have the knowledge and experience to help you navigate the Criminal Appellate Process, from filing, to oral arguments, to the verdict of the Court of Appeals or the South Carolina Supreme Court.
A "Guilty" verdict is just the beginning, not the end.
DUIs are a serious charge, and one that can have long and widespread effects on your life. They can result in a misdemeanor or felony conviction that can result in a loss of your driver's license, jail time, or expensive fines and fees that can burden you in debt.
Our staff has the necessary experience navigating DUI laws in South Carolina, and has helped clients just like you to resolve these charges, and prevent or mitigate the penalties that a DUI conviction carries.
Drug Crimes are unique, and every case tells a different story. Every substance is different and treated so under the law - from the charge itself to the penalty that it carries.
With our knowledge and experience we can help you in ways few other firms can. With a team that includes a former Public Defender and current Defense Attorney experienced in trying Drug Cases, to a Medic and Assistant Solicitor who prosecuted drug crimes by your side, we can help you to fully evaluate your case, the evidence in the State's possession, and to determine the best course of action for you and your unique situation and circumstances.
The end of a marriage is a new beginning for the parties. But, like all new beginnings, it carries with it uncertainties. We understand this, and know the anxiety that it can bring as you reflect on how this will affect you and your children as you start this new chapter.
We understand that Family Law proceedings are arguably the most emotional of court cases. But we also never lose sight of what is most important - ensuring that you receive the best terms for custody, visitation, and child support of your child, and that your child's best interests with you are assured.

An Upstate Native of South Carolina, Erika attended the University of Virginia School of Law, in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she graduated from in 2015. During her third year of law school, she discovered her love of preserving the rights of the wrongfully convicted and wrongfully accused when she spent all of her free time drafting a criminal appeal for her childhood friend who had been sentenced to thirty years in state prison. Defending the constitutional rights of indigent persons accused of crimes gave her a passion for criminal defense.
Following graduation she was awarded a prestigious criminal defense fellowship at the Federal Defender’s Office for the Western District of Virginia in Charlottesville. While there she won a four-year sentence reduction for a man who was unjustly incarcerated for over a decade, and drafted seven petitions for clemency; three of clemency petitions were granted by President Barack Obama. She moved home to the Upstate, and after receiving her SC License, became a criminal defense attorney for the 13th Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office in Pickens County.
In her free time (when she has any) she enjoys playing the piano, writing short stories , and pretending to be good at adult-ing. She prefers Coke to Pepsi, loves yoga, classic rock and gospel hymns, thrift shopping, lawyer jokes, and Thai food (and sushi, and Italian, and Mexican, and really all food as long as she doesn’t have to prepare it herself).
Erika is admitted to practice in all South Carolina State Courts and Tribunals, and in the Federal District Court for the Western District of Virginia.
